Ming-Hsun’s teaching and research experiences include renewable biomass valorization, biorefining technology innovations for biofuels and bioproduct conversions, and sustainability simulations, including techno-economic analysis and life-cycle assessment.

I am originally from Taiwan. My background is in forest products science and bioenergy conversion. I obtained my Ph.D. at Iowa State University in Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering. After my graduation, I joined Center for Advanced Bioenergy and Bioproduct Innovations (CABBI) at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign as a postdoctoral research associate from 2017-2022, focusing on biorefinery design and biofuels and bio-based platform chemicals conversions from agricultural residues and energy crops. My research area and interests include bioprocessing innovations, biomass valorization, and sustainability analysis, including techno-economic analysis and life-cycle assessment.
